Catholic Book Covers

This was a couple of book covers I designed for AHP, an organization that I have worked with in the past. They requested a "Native style" book cover for the Stations of the Cross and Rosary Reflections they constructed. For the Stations of the Cross cover, I took inspiration from the ideas of family and journey that is so important in a lot of Native American Nations. For the Rosary Reflections cover, I took inspiration from my own adopted Nation, the Mohawk Nation. Traditionally, families lived in the longhouses that are made of cedar. Now, the longhouse is used as a gathering spot for all the families within the Mohawk Nation for important events and gatherings. I featured roses in this cover as well because the Rosary is supposed to be like a rose garden. I featured a couple of smoke dancers because the smoke dance is what brings the smoke up and out of the longhouse, which in tern represents our prayers going up like incense to Creator God.
